The big Diablo news from yesterday was that Update 1.1.1 launched! Even better, my little sorceress benefitted from that update. To celebrate I logged on last night and played until I fell asleep at the keyboard!
First up was completing all the quests in and around Braestaig in Scosglen. I was helping townsfolk left and right with their Torcs of Protection and money delivering quests. By the way, you know what made me feel super heartless? Being a mega-millionaire sorceress delivering food from a dad to a son and having them both tell me they were on hard times and haven't eaten in days.
After earning my tier 5 region progress for Scosglen, my next stop was Kehjistan. I did a bunch of quests there killing skeletons in the Tar Pits and gathering partly digested food that's been eaten by the drowned undead (so unpleasant). One of the weirdest quests was for a fella named Mahjoob who needed a Ghost Palm flower to help cure a poisoning. He was using it on himself and when you first talk to him, he's standing in front of a dead body.
The next time you talk to him he's standing in front of a dead camel. That's all fine and well I suppose, he lost a buddy and a camel, but the camel wasn't there until you visit him the second time. It's a weird disconnect. Why was that necessary?
So, between the questing and a few dungeon delves, my sorc's Kehjistand Tier 5 Region Progress was also completed. Woo hoo! Add 4 more paragon points to the paragon point jar, please!
Finally, my last region needing Tier 5 progress was Hawezar. The quests in Zarbinzet and Backwater were enough fuel to help me finish that up as well. I even got a chance to fight the Butcher while I was in a dungeon doing a quest! He went down pretty easily. Did they nerf The Butcher or is killing this guy way easier as a sorceress? Why was my druid so wimpy? This guy used to destroy me!
The strangest quest in Hawezar for the night was the one where you take an undead acolyte's head from his body, and the head talks you through a summoning ritual.
That quest chain eventually led me to the very spot where Elias summoned Lilith: A big chamber full of blood petals.
I was literally falling asleep as I claimed my final Tier 5 progress prize for my sorceress. I can't even remember where I slotted those 4 extra paragon points.
It was a fun night of Diablo 4. Enemies did seem to die just a tiny bit faster, so the patch seemed to help even me, the mild-midcore man. What's next for our friendly sorceress? I think I'll be heading to Tier 4 soon and begin grinding a bit there until I can't take it anymore and call it quits for the season.
Finishing up region progress really does feel a bit like "the end." I wish there was just one more system to keep the leveling from 70-100 feeling great. An Act IV endgame reward track would be a fantastic addition to the game.
Happy Dueling.
