Yup, it's THAT spell . . . you know THAT cool, awesome-looking MUST HAVE balance spell that pretty much defined awesomeness for high level balance wizzies:
Balance wizards get a lot of great AoE spells when you think about it. Sandstorm and Nova are both great spells, and although they don't have the highest base damage out of those with AoE spells, once you throw a Colossal on top of ANY balance AoE spell, you're going to rock the dueling circle.
The most notable feature of Ra is Ra itself. It's a spectacular looking spell and lends itself to so much fun. The readers of The Friendly Necromancer seemed to agree. I had 26 pictures this week of a spell that may seem out of reach to some being that it's a full 8-pip cost spell in the balance line. Well, I guess if you don't have a high-level balance wizard yourself or a balance mastery necklace, there's always a gaggle of balance friends on your friends list, right? It is a pretty rocking school of magic after all. :)

Ra, the first pharaoh, had the power to control the sun, giving warmth to the land of Egypt. As the years passed, he grew weak, and rebels tried to take his throne. Ra sent his daughter, the lion goddess Sekhmet, to deal with the rebels. Yet Sekhmet grew hungrier and went to eliminate the human race. Ra, seeing this, turned wine into the color red to trick Sekhmet. Sekhmet, after drinking the wine, realized her mistake. Thus, Ra saved humanity.
