Ravenwood Radio 45 Tonight!

That's right, it's Ravenwood Radio 45 tonight, with . . . me . . . as a guest host filling in for Fallon. :) She has a previous engagement this evening, and Mr. Spiritcaller was so kind as to invite my special brand of insanity along for the ride.

Farewell, Leesha Darkheart, Hello Fallon Deathslinger

It wasn't long or drawn out . . . it was just a quick note that Leesha Darkheart needs a break from Wizard101 podcasting due to time constraints and other conflicts.

It did hit the chatroom a bit and took us all by surprise.


It's usually bad form to screen capture chat and re-post it, but I felt this one was apropos. We will miss you!

I blurred names in that picture so as not to offend anyone, but I left mine. It was my pleasure to meet Leesha in real-life and share a week of GDC sitting next to her when I could. She did a lot for this community, and maybe someday we'll see her back. (She already told me that a Death Students vs. The Trial of Spheres is in order someday.)

Ravenwood Radio quickly rebounded from the announcement when we learned that Fallon Deathslinger would be Leesha's replacement. Fallon has a lot of experience with the game and a lot of passion for PvP. She has a blog with no posts on it btw. But it does tell a little bit about her. OF COURSE, the entire podcast is well worth the listen. They digest all the latest updates in the test realm and there's a lot of good segments.

Ohhhhh, yeah, and Christina Icedreamer had one of those "segments" on there this time where she roasts me pretty good. I'm not going to post the entire transcript, but listen to these burns she was giving me :)

"Did you know that Friendly's real wizard name is Thomas Lionblood? Well, of course you did, but I heard that he tried to pick the name Thomas LionPuke but KingsIsle wouldn't let him, then he tried Thomas LionSnot and then Thomas LionPhlegm, and then finally he got an e-mail from Professor Lincoln telling him to stop being gross! What's with the bodily fluids, Friendly?

Did you know that Friendly sports a Teal Mullet? As in the Billy Ray Cyrus business in the front, party in the back, I want my mullet back mullet? And, in Wizard101, Friendly's Thomas Lionblood cartoon also has a teal mullet!

Do you think that Friendly gave Thomas Lionblood a teal mullet to look like him in real life, or do you think Friendly cut and dyed his hair into a teal mullet to make himself look more like Thomas Lionblood?"

Haha! Ok, we'll stop there. OUCH! IT BURNS!

She ends up saying that she's left with more questions than answers and wants an interview with me to clear things up.

What do you think? Should I do it? After listening to that segment, I'm pretty convinced that an interview with Icywiz is like an invitation to a barbecue where I'm the main course. ;-)

Ravenwood Radio 17 is Tonight!

Can you believe we're up to Episode 17 on Ravenwood Radio now? So here's the skinny:

Two-Man Briskbreeze Tower Run

So the other day I got a really nice e-mail from Kevin Battleblood who told me how he came to find my blog and caught me up on what he was doing. One of the things he'd been doing was filming a two-man Briskbreeze Tower run.

I have read about a couple others who have completed a two-man Briskbreeze tower run, but tales of the two-man Briskbreeze are few and far between. It's a notable accomplishment in game.

Kevin has a seven part video series of the entire Briskbreeze tower run that he narrates over on Youtube. I found particular value in a little piece of knowledge I gained from video number 5 at 2:28 seconds in. Check it out!

Oh yeah, I'm definitely going to use that to our advantage in the Death Breeze Event for Ravenwood Radio.

Ravenwood Radio 10 is tonight!

It's Wednesday, and that means tonight is Ravenwood Radio night! I can't wait, and I do believe I have a segment that will be playing tonight as well. Woots!

Also, (and this is way super dee dooper cool) Fred Howard, the Vice President of Marketing for Wizard101 (aka Watson from the game and the Wizard101.com forums) did an interview with Steve and Leesha of Ravenwood Radio, and it's going to be awesomesauce. This is your chance to be the first to listen. All you need to do is be in Ravenwood Radio's chat room tonight:

7pm Mountain
8pm Central
9pm Eastern



For those of you who have never been to the chat room at Ravenwood Radio on show night, it's usually packed with 40-60 people and the chat is flying off the screen. It's fun to try and keep up! (Who knows, because of this interview, their numbers could soar even higher tonight? I think there might be a limit to how many people can be in the chat room at once, so maybe get there a little early?) Somehow through all that chat, Wolf Redfist manages to moderate the chat to keep things pleasant.

I'm not sure if I'll be there or not, but I will try and especially since I'm excited to hear what Fred has to say! It was my pleasure to talk to him once before on the phone and a couple times over e-mail. Fred's a nice guy with an interesting look on marketing and Wizard101.

Steve and Leesha have also been saying they have prizes galore to give out, so hey! It might be really worth your time to show up if you're one of the lucky winners, eh?

Ravenwood Radio is TONIGHT!

WOOTS! You know where to be tonight, right? No? Ok, so at 8PM central you need to clicky clicky on this link and join the fun in Ravenwood Radio's chat room as they broadcast live! Well, except for my segment that I pre-recorded. And I think Icywiz has a pre-recorded segment too. BUT, you can chat in the chatroom while that is going on.

Two weeks ago Steve and Leesha came out and chatted in the chatroom with everybody while the segments played, and there were about 20 people in the chatroom (including me). About a month ago there were 40 people in the chatroom, so it was a bit crazy. :-) Let's make this one INSANE! Yay! It should be too since they were recently featured on Wizard101's Facebook page.

Anyway, I won't give away what I talk about this time. :-)

Ravenwood Radio's Live Event? pvp rules?

hi freindly i got two questions for you first one i was listening to ravenwood radio 5 yesterday and you were talking about the pvp touraments now this is my question where do you sign up for this and second you said that you could only use spells you learned so does this mean that i cant use my wand or anything that that gives my cards like clothes or pets or you get the idea thanks.

Oh! Sorry, yeah, that tournament is now over. It was Diary of a Wizard's Winter Smash and Bash tournament that happened yesterday. This was the link the participate. All the information on rules to participate, etc. can be found over there.

I wasn't able to attend myself, but I have reviewed the hour of footage that my new buds steve and leesha recorded on their site. Lesse . . . let me embed that on my site . . . here we go:

Now, if you're looking for more pvp tournaments, let me highly recommend those tournaments hosted over on Central. No, there won't be coordinated video of the matches and all the hype of a full media blitz that only Fallon and her friends can produce, but these are excellent pvp tournaments that will reward you with Central forum gold and they occur all the time. They have their own set of rules, which include things like no fleeing, no bad language, no chain stunning, and only one life wizard per team. They also will have specific rules based on the particular event you're in.

Sorry we both missed the event! It looked like fun. :-)

It's FRIENDLY RADIO NOW! WOOT!

I have to say that being on Ravenwood Radio was a blast. I LOVED being on the show. I LOVED throwing out my opinions and just being the strange off–the-wall type of person that I am. It’s probably going to be strange. You’re probably not going to like me as much after the show, but DANGIT I had so much fun.

Steve and Leesha couldn’t shut me up. It was AWESOME! I was on such a high from talking about the game I love. It was like I just opened up the flood gates and a hundred thoughts came rushing out.

For some reason it sounded like my mic freaked out half way through the show /shrug . . . but what eva.
