Awesome Thing #25 -- Bartleby

If you haven't had a chance to read Jeff Toney's series of articles on the Evolution of Bartleby on the KingsIsle Blog, this might be a good time to catch up.

part 1
part 2
part 3

Jeff does a great job of breaking down exactly what went into creating the perfect center-piece tree for Wizard101.

LOL Bartleby! Look at him! It's like he's saying, Wizards! GET IN MY BELLY!

. . . also . . . the most uber healing spell evar!

Whoa, I just had a thought: the day we put a mini-bartleby spell as a pet talent is the day KingsIsle has officially gone cray! ;p HAHAHAHA! Could you imagine? That would be nuts!

. . . but seriously, Bartleby is awesome. Thus! It is on the list!

Awesome Thing #24 -- Krampus

Krampus? Yup, that evil goat legend from Christmas tales across the sea where bad boys and girls who didn't live up to their shining Christmas selves would be tormented by said evil goat . . . is now a fire spell in Wizard101. ;)

You can get it from the Yuletide Pack or from the Loremaster (as I talked about yesterday), and it's awesome!

Awesome Thing #23 -- The Loremaster

Back in July 2013 Wizard101 introduced a sidequest NPC in Dragonspyre along with Aquila. Behold, the Loremaster!

Not only does she have an amazingly cool cyborg ghost look (Cyborg ghosts are the best!) and hangs out in the library of Dragonspyre, she has a loot table that coughs up rare spells from all the hoard packs . . . even the most recent Krampus spell (first hand knowledge on that one! :))

And because she's an alternative to spending money on packs to get a rare spell, she's awesome.

Awesome Thing #22 -- Dancing with your Pets

I love the dancing game in the Pet Pavilion, but that's not what this awesome thing is about . . . directly. What I'm talking about is how awesome it is to dance with your pets in your player housing.

Logically thinking (now that I'm on the other side of the curtain), when advanced pets hit Wizard101, they had to put a dance animation for every single pet in the game plus new dance animations for all the existing pets AND commit to new dance animations for any pet to come in the future. That's a pretty awesome thing right there. HA! That should be a sales slogan, KingsIsle, committed to making your pets dance in Wizard101 since May 2010.

Anyway, using your dance emote around pets in your player housing causes a good chunk of them to equally respond and dance right along with you.

I love it, it's meaningless fun, and it's definitely an awesome thing about Wizard101.

Awesome Thing #21 -- Harvesting a Full Elder Garden

Ahhh, a full garden of Elder Plants is a sight to behold . . . blindingly perfect!

Ahhh, a full chat window with line after line of glorious loot!

Ahhh, to start it all over again.

How awesome is harvesting a full elder garden? It's like beating 25-battles-in-a-row-in-10-seconds awesome . . . that's how awesome!

Awesome Thing #20 -- Gamma's Room

There it is . . . a simple side entrance to the Headmaster's office in Ravenwood.

And really it's only used as a staging area for maybe one or two quests, but there's so much to love about this room--mainly the wonderful, magical view of The Spiral in all its glory.

Sometimes I'll make a trip back just to stand in there for a moment and chill out with the swirling colors . . . because it's awesome!

Awesome Thing #19 -- A Really Hard Challenge

Happy New Year! It's that time of year again when we all think about making New Year's Resolutions and sometimes those can seem difficult for us to do, but that's definitely what makes following through with a new year resolution awesome! In Wizard101, I think one of the hardest challenges I ever faced was Malistaire vs. Angus. It was one of those challenges that I thought I could never win, but yet . . . somehow I pulled it off!

This was all pre-shuffle changes . . . and the shuffle changes effectively killed this style of play, but that's beside the point. The point here is that it was a hard challenge . . . something I needed at that particular time in my life. I needed to take my game to the next level to keep it fun and interesting for me, and because Wizard101 allows you flexibility to make the game as difficult as you want it to be, it's awesome.

What hard challenge in game are you taking on these days? Getting your warlord in PvP? Soloing your way through some difficult content? Lemme know!
