@anon: there are 4 monster cards of all classes except balance. If you run out of cards, you reshuffle and use them again.
All of these questions and more should be addressed in the .pdf file that's coming out soon. Also, I'm hoping that others will take my game and run with it . . . invent their own cards and rules, etc. There's plenty of room to take this game and tweak it slightly with your own rules or simply use the deck to make up new games entirely.
I remember signing up to be one of the fire student cards while back. What stinks is that I went on vacation and I thought it was to late to respond! :(

Yup, there are four cards of each class of wizards. The game was based around a deck of cards, so it goes like Ace-7 cards are the player cards and 8-Queen are the monster cards. Four suits of cards, Four Wizards, Four monsters.
Utility spells are a little more in depth, but basically in the video we move the player card down half way to indicate that we've used that card's utility spell. You could also toss a blank pog on the player card to indicate they've used their spell, etc.
The .pdf will probably be released the night of 5 April.
@anon: Every time a spell is played, a six-sided dice will be rolled to see if the spell fizzles. If the roll of the dice matches the spell being played, the spell will fizzle and the player's turn will end. Note that Utility spells will never fizzle, only monster spell cards fizzle. 1 = ice 2 = fire 3 = storm 4 = life 5 = death 6 = myth

Anyway, I look forward to playing this game!
@Amber: Hopefully the finished product will be open-ended enough that you could put a card of your own in the game in place of someone else! :-)

Hmm, what about backs for the cards? I mean, white backs aren't exactly the best thing for a card...
Backs of the cards are included in the .pdf file for optional print out.
Cool, I was in there!
I wish I'd have changed my sayings, they're a little weird...
