Remember what it was like on Unicorn Way?

I was playing my new fire wizard tonight for a little bit, and it helped me remember what it was like when the game was new. So much has changed over these months. It's hard to believe that the game is approaching one year old here soon. I wonder what kind of celebration Kingsisle will put on when that happens? . . . maybe nothing, but just maybe they will do something great!

So let me know, Do you remember what it felt like to be a new wizard on Unicorn Way?

For me tonight there was that familiar spark of excitement as I ran in to battle a few skeletal pirates. There was that feeling again of exploring a new world and of the fun whirl from the Wizard City Commons music in the air and the challenge of the golem tower looming in my quest log. I just had a big smile on my face tonight.

It's kind of nice to forget everything you know once in a while and just feel new like a kid again, you know? Sometimes our minds get so clouded with goals and past achievements in a game like this (and in other games . . . and in life in general), that it's hard to return to the wonder of it all and live in the moment. (Emotional baggage, right?)

I think those feelings of newness are supposed to be part of the magic that you have when you play Wizard City though. I embraced it tonight. So, just remember THAT when you're surrounded by griefers and node-stealers and port-and-flee combat jumpers . . . happiness can sometimes just be a new character away . . . if you can only allow yourself to forget that you've done it all before. :-)

Happy Dueling!

Mmm...I remember that feeling! I love starting a new wizard - everything ahead of you, the whole game fresh and new. No immediate drive for level 50 gear. Of course, that feeling fades as soon as I hit the rooftops of MarleyBone lol. A good reminder -

I remember this feeling well. I just finished with my 'secret' wizard there in Unicorn Way, and Wizard City itself. I forgot how fun even that world can be.It was fun running around dueling Haunted Minions or those annoying little Fire Elves that won't give up their hats -__-
I do agree with Countess Shadowbane though. The feeling fades after you hit Marleybone. Already dreading it since I am pretty close to it..

Not quite new, but my Life wizard Olivia just did Chelsea Court and Ironworks over the weekend. I'd forgotten how darn fast those Gearheads are!

My daughter (age 3) has her own character in W101, and she's firmly stuck in Unicorn Way. (She mostly just tells me what to do, and we stay out of combat.) It's nice to see the early parts of the game on a regular basis, as they really do have a lot of polish and appeal. I'm a sucker for Marleybone, m'self, but even after purchasing a Royal Estate, I still want to go pick up a small private island in Wizard City, since it just feels like home in a lot of ways.
