Mega Snack Pack is Back for Thee Attack!

Soooooooo,

This little card pack is expensive at 2,500 crowns. Seriously. I mean, which would you rather buy? Access to Cyclops Lane, Firecat Alley, and Colossus Boulevard . . . or one mega snack pack? That's just insane on the costs in comparison, isn't it? How many hours of fun have I had in those three zones compared to how quickly I blew through this one mega-snack pack? hmm?

Yeah, I bought one.

And, yeah, I used most of them to get Mister Brandy close to Ancient.

And, yeah, I have to tell you parents that this is the best reason to restrict your kids' crowns because IT'S AWESOME! It's so amazingly addictive to see those numbers fly and watch your pets improve at a huge pace! Evolution Pet Stones, er food, are THEZ BOMBZ! BOOOOOOMZ! The time savings is just HUMONGO(FROG)US, the will bonuses are DYNOMITE! The feeling of watching your pet soar to the next level IS AWESOME!

BOOOOOMZ!

Careful with those addictive snack packs my friends.

Careful.

*slowly backs away from the crown shop*

Happy Dueling!

*Faints at price* And I thought I was actually going to spend a few crowns and get those! Nope. Nope. *Pulls on "I <3 AmbrOs" t-shirt* :D

And here's a little, cool insider tip: These snacks, for whatever reason (I'm not even sure these people were in their right mind), have been sold to the Auction/Bazaar for about 2,000 gold apiece; on the other end of the spectrum, they can be purchased for around 2,500-3,000 gold (totally worth it!). The catch: it's rare that these show up, but it would--hands down--be worth the effort to take a look.

Ha, they are WAY expsensive. 5 dollars for 7 snacks. I think I would rather buy 2 more areas permanently. But they are very good snacks...

These snacks are a great boon for testing.
Also a great strategy for quickly getting a couple of pets to Adult for the Hatchery.

The Advanced Pet System is designed to have it take weeks and months to train our pets. KI doesn't really want training two pets to Adult in a matter of hours to be the norm. It's intended that it take us weeks and months to train our pets.
There are several mechanisms in place to discourage us from trying to quickly train numerous pets.

The high cost of the mega-snacks is intended to discourage most players from using this strategy - especially from using this method often.

It's possible for us to circumvent that basic design - we can spend crowns on Energy Refill, we can spend hours at a time being non-social.
The mini-games are designed to be fun in the short-term, but feel tedious after more than 30 minutes - specifically to encourage the average player to stop training and do something else.

250 crowns is not worth it for me to get an instant Energy refill and immediately return to another 30 minutes of training.
But, given the amount of time I spend training pets for petnome research, it was a relief to be able to train several pets to Teen and one to Adult in under an hour was a great relief.

30 minutes of Dancing to get half-way to Teen is a drag and feels like work. I have to take a long break after 30 minutes.

30 minutes of Dancing to get two pets all the way to Teen was a blast. I could probably spend a couple hours doing that without a break if I had enough cash and crowns to finance it.

My son accidentally bought one for my character and I tweeted the following:

Mega snack pack has been purchased. Slippery slope is in sight.

So satisfying as you say but way too freakin' expensive.
