Amber!

No, silly! Not Amber Deathsong! I'm on a quest for Amber reagents! If you don't know what that is, it's a high high end crafting component in Wizard101 that (besides causing a fuss) is really only used (as of now) in crafting unique spells and the housing games, at least that's what the wiki is telling me. I've been lucky enough to pull a few of the leet spells from hoard packs, but the rest evade me.

Where does one get Amber? Two sources. One is gardening. The other is a thick transmute receipe involving 5 Merle's Whiskers, 5 Amber Dust, 15 Sunstone, and 10 Golden Pearl . . . to one Amber.

I choose Gardening!

To those ends I've been growing a lot of King Parsely. My buddy Gary at work is doing that too. He made a good point that King Parsely was a good route to go because it's a crown plant that reseeds plentifully. In fact, you can get a couple reseeds from one King Parsely plant over the course of its life.

Here I am standing in front of my elder Parsley Patch this morning.

YAY! I pulled four Amber out of that elder harvest, and from what I understand . . . I'm lucky!

How do you guys get your Amber?

Red Bell Peppers! They don't reseed like KPs and they're pricey... but they're faster and I need somewhere to burn all my gold anyway, lol. 10 out of 12 towards my deer knight spell! :D

Where may I find the deer knight recipe and are there other vendors that have permanent spell recipes other than the one in Jade Palace of Mooshu?

Also, I have been getting my amber from White Tiger Lilies, just about from each elder harvest luckily. Will try the Red Bell Peppers which drop decently from Mirror Lake. And I will try King Parsley as well. Thanks you both for that information. Anything on getting Amber reagents help.

So this can be a bit tricky. You have to complete the quest "Where the Demons Dwell" in Avalon (in Dun Scaith) to get the NPC who sells the deer knight recipe to show up. His name is Grady. You also have to pay 60,000 gold for the recipe. So far Grady and Yan Kan Kook in MooShu are the only spell vendors in the game.

I hear White Tiger Lilies are the fastest, but I haven't tried Red Bell Peppers. Good tip from Katherine!

The Avalon spell recipe vendor is actually in the Wild. He is in the tower right behind the wildfire treants. It's not the tower with white in its name where you can find Cassie. It's the one before it, and yes, you have to fight the boss in the tower in order to get the vendor to appear.

I've had great luck with Red Bell Peppers. Deadly Ninja Figs are good too and you can buy them in Wintertusk. I'm not having very good luck with King Parsley. I harvest 20 elder yesterday and I didn't get any amber. White Tiger Lilies are great, but very hard to get.

I'm not quite done with the Zafaria crafting quest, trying to craft the Avalon Ice Gear that gives insane amounts of resist.
