We had a lot of fun watching your reactions to the Wonky Donkey mount (which was hilarious by the way--thanks for all the punchlines and for sharing all your pictures and laughs with us).

Ahem! So if I could paint the picture of how this video idea was born, it would simply be me and Leala sitting at our desks, shooting the breeze about the upcoming April Fool's Day event with Wonky when Leala asked (and encouraged), "What should we do? We should do something!" That's always a dangerous question . . .

Before you know it, Leala was writing up a script, and I was donning a robe and black fingernail polish. LOL!

We shot the entire video in a couple hours at the end of work one day with a few willing and accidental victims. (Not to mention Leala's time sculpting the perfect stapler in Jello mold. She's amazing.) After that, our hard working video editing genius, Damon Brown, did his entire production magic over the course of a couple days--then it was just a matter of adding credits and anxiously sitting on the video until today.

Have I told you how much I love working with hardworking creative people? The KingsIsle Team dreamed up a really awesome mount this year (I should mention Karl Holbert was the real inventive genius behind the Wonkey Donkey, not Retired Malistaire!), and our Community and Social Media team simply tried to help us step up to the plate.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did making it for you! Good times.

KingsIsle was nice enough to supply me with some concept art from their brand new Celestia-themed Mega Bundle Card that's due to hit US K-mart stores (I know, K-mart, right?) next week. NEXT WEEK!

This bad boy card of the bunch comes with an amazing Fantasy Celestial Solar System Mansion (complete with teleporters to all nine planets rising high above the mansion), the usual amount of crowns, a castle elixir, Moon "Magic" Suit Gear (scalable to level 70), and . . . dun dun dun . . . the THREE-SEATER Celestian Whale mount!!!


OMGosh NOW! I usually don't shop K-mart, but I will be banging on those doors the morning this is released, screaming at the top of my lungs for a blue-light special to happen in the video game department!

Thanks so much KI for a sneak peak of this magnitude on this very special day!

Ok, I can't do it. Too many of you are on high alert for April Fool's Day this year.

APRIL FOOLS!

Those pictures come from the talented NinjaBee Staff on their art blog. I saw them a few weeks ago and couldn't resist slapping a KingsIsle logo on them because they do look an awful lot like KI's art style. You should check out some of the other wild hybrid combinations they came up with on their site because they are a perfect example of the kind of "hybrid" I'm looking for!

How to Enter:
To enter, you must draw/photoshop/edit/create a picture of a "new" Wizard101 hybrid of your own creation and send it to thefriendlynecromancer@gmail.com.

Rules:
Please keep your image in a .jpg format and try to keep it under one megabyte in size . . . in fact half a megabyte or less would be great. It doesn't matter if it's scanned or a photo, just find a way to put it into a .jpg and send it to thefriendlynecromancer@gmail.com.

Winners will be notified over e-mail and on my blog on April 9th, 2011.

All entries must be recevied by April 7th, 2011 to be considered.

Please also put the name of your Wizard101 character in the e-mail, so we can give you proper credit. :)

I have a total of 15 moonlight ponies to give away:

- All entries regardless of quality will be entered into a raffle to win one of five moonlight ponies.
- The ten best new hybrids will be featured on my blog and each will receive a moonlight pony.

Considerations:
Don't worry if you're not that great of an artist. Just give it your best shot because we'll also be judging on creativity, awesomeness, feasibility, and comedy factor besides natural talent.

The judges will be me, uber wife, Kyle, and Amber.

Pet of the Day--Skeletal Pirate (April Fool's)

Aha! Bet you didn't know about the Skeletal Pirate pet, did you? Edward Icespear doesn't even know about the Skeletal Pirate pet, BUT I DO!!! Guess where I got this pet, y'all?

Nope, not at a Grateful Dead concert (good guess though)! I got him from Tumok Gravelbeard in Dragonspyre, which means the real drop could be any of the level 50 mobs in Dragonspyre (unless KI made it an exclusive drop to Tumok, why would they do that?). I can't tell you how freaking excited I was and how freaking excited I was to show my rufus off to you all for pet of the day!

Level 48 Spells are LIVE!

that's right wizards! Head on into the spiral and go talk to your class professors! Originally scheduled to be released in the Summer Semester due to some issues with the Orthrus pet, the spells are now fixed and LIVE!

I'm so excited I get to cast the level 48 spell. You're going to find me this morning in Sunken City sucking the life out of all those monsters.
